Art, as we all know, is expressed in many ways. Here in Beijing the most unique type of art that you would probably find in most cultural centers is the Chinese art of Calligraphy.
Just a taxi ride away from the Redwall Hotel Beijing, an art studio, owned by Mr. Li Feng, hosts’ Beijing’s best and finest Calligraphies.
The Chinese art of calligraphy stems from a character, each character represents a lot of different things, from painting, music, to dancing. Each stroke on a character is as beautiful and fragile as a rose.
At Mr. Li Feng’s art studio, you can personally see him create his masterpiece using a lot of fancy strokes. What’s more interesting is that if you’d like to have one for a souvenir, he can make an extra masterpiece for you on the spot.
At a very young age of 7, Mr. Li Feng already had an interest with writing calligraphies, and after many years of study and practice, he mastered a unique style that’s now cherished all over China – the clerical regular script.
One artwork that would surely get your attention is the character “dragon”. Using his famous style and a lighting like stoke, it only takes him a single stroke to get one done. Upon examining the character, you will see that it is round on the inside and square outside.
Mr. Li Feng’s clerical regular script already appeared as early as 2,000 years ago. Today, only Mr. Li Feng has mastered this form calligraphy, making him a legend in the flesh.
